Basic Salad

Ingredients

  • Lettice
  • Cucumber
  • Onion
  • Pepper
  • Tomato
  • Cheese

Optional Extras

  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Vinegar

Equiptment

  • Knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon

Directions
Remove Lettice leafs and cut them into strips.
Removing the skin of the Onion and slice a reasonable segment off and chop into chunky peices.
Cut the Pepper in half, remove and throwing away all inside with the seeds and cut into strips.
Take the Cucumber, Tomato and Cheese, cutting them up into chunky bite size pieces.
Put all the chopped ingredients into a Mixing Bowl, adding Mayonnaise, Salt, Pepper, small amount of Vinegar and mix with a Wooden Spoon.

Methods
Cutting variations of; large chunk, thin strip, cube, equiangular, cylinder and circle shapes makes a difference.
Graters are available that produce a selection of shaped foods for cheese and vegetables quickly.



Salad Dressing

    Herb and Spices[i]
  • Chilli
  • Tandoori
  • Mustard
  • Curry
  • Mixed Herbs
  • Salt and Pepper

Directions
In a Mixing Bowl and add, using either; Mayonnaise, Olive Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Melted Butter, Vegetable Oil or Sunflower Oil as a base liquid.
Add Spices, Herbs, Salt or Pepper and vinegar too your liking and taste into the Mixing Bowl.
Stir occasionally with a Wooden Spoon and allow time too blend together.
Mix and lightly cover your Salad with Dressing for more adventurious flavour experiences.



Salad Croutons

Ingredients

  • Bread
  • Margarine
  • Salt and Pepper

Optional Extras

  • Mixed Herbs

Equiptment

  • Toaster
  • Knife
  • Oven

Directions
Heat the Oven too 200c.
Put Bread into a Toaster and make Toast.
Spread margarine on the Toast on both sides.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on the Toast on both sides.
Slice the Toast into cubes using a Knife.
Add Toast Cubes into a hot oven until crisp.



Potato Salad

Ingredients

  • New Potatoes
  • Mixed Herbs
  • Butter
  • Salt and Pepper

Optional Extras

  • Potatoes
  • Mayonnaise
  • Cheese

Equiptment

  • Sauce Pan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Draining Sieve
  • Knife
  • Mixing Bowl

Directions
Boil some Water, putting the New Potatoes, whole with skin; into a Sauce Pan to boil.
Tell if potatoes are cooked correctly by stabbing with a Knife, if soft enough to eat; they are cooked enough.
Using a Sieve and drain the water from the New Potatoes, putting them inside a Mixing Bowl.
Add Mixed Herbs, Butter, Salt and Pepper to the New Potatoes and mix together with a Wooden Spoon.
